COREPER I

In COREPER I the Member States are represented by their Deputy Permanent Representatives based at their Permanent Representation in Brussels. Ambassador Tom Hanney represents Ireland and is chairing COREPER I for the first six months of 2013. COREPER I deals with:

1. Employment, social policy, health and consumer affairs

2. Competitiveness (internal market, industry and research)

3. Transport, telecommunications and energy

4. Agriculture and fisheries

5. Environment

6. Education, youth, culture and sport.
