Foreign Affairs Council (FAC)
The Foreign Affairs Council meets once a month and deals with all aspects of the European Union’s external policy. The Council deals with issues such as Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP), Security and Defence Policy (CSDP), Foreign Trade Policy and Development Cooperation. The FAC meets once a month and is permanently chaired by the EU High Representative, Baroness Catherine Ashton. Member States are normally represented by their foreign Ministers, with Development, Defence and/or Trade Ministers participating depending on the agenda.
On the Council's website you can find information on all Council meetings, including the agenda, background note, and webcasts of all open sessions. We will livestream press conferences on this website's press centre, and add images and videos of the event, and press releases, to this page.
