The Week of Innovative Regions in Europe (WIRE) Conference series, financed under the FP7 Capacities Research Potential work programme, is now recognised as a key element in facilitation of the European regional agenda. The conferences have generally succeeded in bringing together regional, national and European stakeholders including public organisations, policy makers, research communities and enterprises to address, develop and progress key topics of interest to the community.
The WIRE 2013 Conference will be hosted in University College Cork on Thursday 6 and Friday 7 June with the Conference dinner on 6 June taking place in Cork City Hall. Industry site visits are planned for the afternoon of Wednesday 5 June. Please view sites and itinerary for details.
The Conference will be formally launched by Mr. Sean Sherlock, T.D. Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise, Jobs & Innovation and Department of Education & Skills with responsibility for Research & Innovation, and by Máire Geoghegan-Quinn, Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science.
